Every home tells a story ...
a story of perseverance, of dreams built from the
ground up, of women who refuse to give up.
The majority of Habitat for Humanity homeowners in Collin County are women who are single and head-of-the-household. When a woman builds her home, she builds a stronger future … for her children, her community, and us all.
CAMPAIGN PURPOSE
The 2026 Women Build Campaign is a dynamic, four-month initiative officially launching in March, which aligns with International Women’s Month. The campaign will focus on public fundraising, free webinars, and Mother’s Day tributes as well as sponsored playhouse builds (for corporate donors that aren’t open to the public).
Both aspects of the campaign will support:
Single mothers & women homeowners
Child-centered nonprofits
Financial education and homeownership literacy
Individual donors are welcome to help us with this campaign to support our building of homes for deserving families and their children in our community.
This History of Women Build
Coming together to build stronger,
safer communities
Since 1991, Habitat’s Women Build volunteers have united from all backgrounds to strengthen and uplift their communities. Women Build opportunities are available nationwide, welcoming any woman or person who wants to learn homebuilding or repair skills.
Because women and children are most affected by unsafe or unstable housing, Women Build offers a powerful way to take action and support families directly.
Men are, of course, welcome to participate.
While Women Build centers on women’s leadership in homebuilding, it does not exclude volunteers of any gender. Participating in a Women Build event is an inspiring way to get involved—bring friends and family of all ages, or come on your own and join a supportive, collaborative community.
